Identify the first 4 players called up to the U23 Vietnam national team

Four players from the SLNA roster are the initial names included in the U23 Vietnam national team's assembly list.

Accepting an invitation from the Chinese Football Association, the U23 Vietnam national team will participate in the CFA Team China – Xi'an 2026 International Football Tournament, taking place from March 25th to 31st, 2026, in Xi'an city (China).

Recently, the first players called up to the U23 Vietnam national team have been confirmed. SLNA club announced that four players will join the first training camp of 2026, including goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, Le Nguyen Hoang, Le Dinh Long Vu, and Nguyen Quang Vinh.

Among them, only Cao Van Binh was part of the squad that achieved the bronze medal at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup. As this training camp coincides with the March FIFA Days, when the senior Vietnam national team also plays friendlies against Bangladesh and, more importantly, a rematch against Malaysia in the Asian Cup qualifiers, the U23 Vietnam team will likely not have its strongest squad available.

Naturally, this will be an opportunity for less prominent or younger players to feature and have playing time to prove themselves with U23 Vietnam. Most likely, the coaching staff will prioritize using players from the U21 age group to gradually prepare for the 2026 ASIAD.

This year's tournament features four teams: host U23 China, U23 Vietnam, U23 Thailand, and U23 DPR Korea, competing in a single round-robin format to determine the final standings.

According to the schedule announced by the organizers, the U23 Vietnam national team will face U23 DPR Korea on March 25th, take on U23 Thailand on March 28th, before competing against host U23 China in the final match on March 31st.

To prepare for this tournament, the U23 Vietnam national team is scheduled to assemble in Hanoi on March 17th. This is also part of the VFF's plan to build a successor generation for the senior national team, while providing opportunities for young players to gain international match experience, aiming towards the goal of preparing personnel for the 2026 Asian Games.
